Isochrone Explorer

This tool visualizes "Isochrones" (Time Maps) — areas reachable from a specific point within a certain time limit.

1. The Concept

Typically, maps show distance (circles). But in the real world, roads and traffic matter.

An Isochrone helps answer: "Where can I live if I want to be 15 minutes from work?"

2. Data Source

We use the OpenRouteService API, which calculates travel times based on OpenStreetMap road networks.

It considers factors like:

• Road types (Highway vs. Street)
• One-way streets
• Traffic restrictions
• Terrain (for cycling/walking)

3. Usage

Step 1: Enter your API Key (it's free!).

Step 2: Choose a mode (Car, Bike, Walking).

Step 3: Set the time limit slider.

Step 4: Click anywhere on the map to see the reachable area!
