A chill "screensaver" mode that hops between random Wikipedia locations around the world.
We query the Wikipedia API for random articles that have Geolocation coordinates.
This filters out abstract concepts and focuses on physical places: towns, ruins, mountains, stadiums, etc.
We use Esri World Imagery (Satellite) tiles to give you a bird's-eye view.
The camera starts zoomed deeply in to reveal details, then slowly zooms out ("flies away") to reveal context, like "Oh, we are on an island in Japan!"
Adjust the Timing sliders to speed up or slow down the tour.
Pause if you want to explore the map manually.
